It may only be February but our minds are already on December and we are thrilled to share that our 2024 Botanical Fade Advent is now available for preorder!

If you have been a follower of Hue Loco for a while, you may remember that our love affair with natural dyes has deep roots, inspiring everything from individual colorways to an entire line of botanically dyed yarn.

This year we are celebrating natural pigments, the forefather of all modern dye practices, in our annual fade advent! By marrying the nuanced, earthy colors found in nature with the innovative, bold palettes you have come to expect from Hue Loco we are giving you something entirely new and delicious.

You can expect a smooth fade occurring over 24 minis. You can expect speckled, tonal, and semisolid skeins with shifting values and velvety layered hues. After you have opened all 24 minis you will finish off your advent with a 100g skein in your chosen base designed to complement your fade perfectly!

If you can’t wait to start planning what you are going to make with your advent this year, here are the details so you know exactly what you will have to work with!

Advents will include:

  • (24) 20 gram mini skeins in chosen base
  • (1) 100 gram skein in chosen base

Bases:

  • Merino Sock - 80/20 SW Merino, Nylon / 80 yds per mini / 400 yds per 100g skein
  • Phyllis Sock - 75/25 SW Merino, Nylon / 90 yds per mini / 460 yds per 100g skein
  • Single Sock - 100 SW Merino / 80 yds per mini / 400 yds per 100g skein
  • DK - 75/25 SW Merino, Nylon / 49 yds per mini / 230 yds per 100g skein (100g skeins are 100 SW Merino)

We also have assembled a group of excellent, advent friendly patterns over in our Ravelry Bundles!

If you plan to get an advent this year, we recommend doing so sooner rather than later so you don’t miss out, and don’t forget that you can now purchase the featured 100g skein, Flora, individually to supplement what comes with your advent!

We can’t wait to share this stunning fade with you!

I know it’s probably too late, but will you be offering more of these advents?
